Floating Support

Floating Support is available to Travellers who require support to maintain or establish independence within their home and their community. Support is not tied to any particular tenancy or accommodation, but the service user must reside in the Belfast area. Support is available for up to 2 years to each service user, with the aim of meeting clearly identified outcomes within this time frame.


  • Each service user will have an individual needs/support plan, tailored to their particular needs in any of the following areas:
  • -Accommodation including: Independent Living, Homelessness/threatened with Homelessness, protection from abuse
  • -Finances including: Benefits, Budgeting, Debt Management
  • -Health: Liaison/referrals with internal/external agencies/stakeholders to meet Mental & Physical health needs
  • -Parenting Support: Liaison/referrals with internal/external agencies/stakeholders to include Schools, Social Services, Family Support, Children’s Health Issues
  • -Education, Employment & Personal Development: Liaison/referrals with internal/external agencies/stakeholders to meet specific needs


  • Develop sustain an individual’s skills to live independently and safely in their own accommodation
  • Provide support to prevent people losing their home
  • Provide support to find appropriate accommodation



-Must reside in Belfast

-Must be a Traveller

-Must be over 16yrs of age

-Must be Capable of living independently in the community (providing suitable support is made available)

-Must have housing related support needs
