Training Opportunities

We aim to build, improve and sustain positive relationships through training and dialogue with local people and their neighbours from different cultures and countries.

We offer 3 different training options aimed at Community Groups, individuals from Black and Minority Ethnity Groups, Schools and Workplaces - see below for more information

Community Groups

  • Element 1 – Build Relationships through integrated training

Who is the training designed for?

The FREE training is designed for local community groups based in Northern Ireland and/or the Border Counties.  This training element has three areas:

  • Stepping into Diversity
  • Good Relations & Civic Leadership (OCN Level 2)
  • Contentious Cultural Issues (OCN Level 2)

For the first part of the training – “Stepping into Diversity” the training is open to all groups.  Once your group has completed Stepping into Diversity, we will invite you to work alongside another group who reflect a different part of the community, to complete either or both of the Good Relations & Civic Leadership and Contentious Cultural Issues courses.

The set of courses on offer are tailored to the needs of your group and other options and courses are available.

Black and Minority Ethnic Individuals

  • Element 2 - Sustain Relationships

To support our aim, we are recruiting and training up to 45 individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic Groups (B&ME) to become Cultural and Community Champions.

You will be supported through a series of FREE training covering a range of topics and gain recognised qualifications.  This will allow you, as a B&ME Cultural and Community Champion, to co-facilitate training in local communities, workplaces and schools, alongside our staff from Bryson and TIDES to dispel myths and perceptions of cultural diversity. There will also be volunteering opportunities available.

Who is this training aimed at?

This training is targeted at people from different cultures and countries, who currently live in Northern Ireland and the Border Countries.  We would love to hear from you if you are interested in getting involved in this training. We plan to run this training once or twice a year and you will be placed on our waiting list.

The FREE training is tailored to suit the needs of your organisation or group and will be co-facilitated with individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic groups who live here.

We offer general diversity training for staff teams/groups or it can specifically apply to managing diversity in the workplace.
